
The shop keepers and traders of Barnstaple were out raged when they found out that Barnstaple was to get a second Tesco store, and not being consulted and kept in the dark infuriated them, as the location would be extremely damaging to the town centers trade and business. The Art Store Gallery who I have been working with since I started asked if I could do some kind of protest, parody, satire painting for their window, to draw attention to their cause, not being from Barnstaple, I Googled to find out about the town, finding out their most famous icon / landmark is their clock tower, which tells a different time on each face(!) so to add a Tescos sign to the tower was very apt....
The example above was painted on card, but of you want to commission the painting it can be done on canvas (see below) if you actually want the painting on card, or a print please email, I never intended to sell this painting, but reaction has been so positive I decided to make it available.
The painting is in high-grade acrylic paint varnished with a matt spray varnish, on a pure cotton box canvas. The canvas measures 30 inches x 20 inches on a box canvas of 2 inches deep, the sides of the canvas are painted with a wrap around effect, no nails or staples and ready to hang.
