I've just changed my collection on show at The Grove in Honiton, new paintings that are now on show in there are, Cow 1 Cow 3 and Kid Z. Please get your arty bums down there and see my show....oh here are some photos the show.

At the bottom of every page of my site there is now a 'share' button, by clicking of the relevant icon every page of my site can now be shared either by email, printed or posted to a social network site like Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace etc so please if you want to share a painting or page with others use these buttons, the more tweets and FB post I get from you beautiful people the more traffic I will get to my site which will help no end in this endeavor to become a eccentric artist millionaire! (owww very business like of me, well kinda) so please use them, they look like this.

My new home town is Teignmouth, Teignmouth is famous for being the home town of Muse, a year or so back i painted and filmed a Muse painting, Teignmouth Post ran a story on me and my art, and about my Mude painting....see the pattteren! heheheh

I have an exhibition on now in Boston Tea party in Honiton(in teh hight street), its on from now until the 13th June, so please if you are in the area go and have a peak, i'm pretty happy with the way it looks, i think i did a good job of hanging them i must say hehehe, here are a few pictures of the exhibition, i only had my phoen with me so the photos are not great but ill get some better ones soon.

The great article on little old me, my speed paintings and my art 'therory' that i have been banging on about for a few months has come out! Its in this months (November 09) issue of DEVON LIFE and im so so pleased with the way it has come out and reads really well..... i surprised myself! I managed to get down to the great Grove in Honiton to change over and add some more paintings to this exhibition and got round to getting some great photos of the space, and if seeing these does not make you want to make a trip down there, well you must live in the US... thats fair enough, for the rest of you get down there!

Novembers issue of Devon Life will have a whole article of me and my art, focusing on youtube speed paintings and well the internet as my gallery, and really about you guys! its very exciting and cant wait to see it in print... so go and get it, other wise the kitten gets it!

The Grove gallery had it's opening with an amazing amount of people, lovely free wine and nibbles made it one of the best openings ive been too, a real credit to Lesley who put is all together. I managed to get one photo of my work, which was hard as the place was so cramed it was hard to get a clear shot hehehe but enjoy.

Well it was a sad day and like many of you wanted to express it in some way thoughts, emotions etc so here it is my tribute painting to Jacko ... Michael Jackson RIP ... Painting Here

The Art Store Gallery in Barnstaple is one of the longest and best relationships I have with any gallery or shop, it's so good working with them that sometimes I seem to neglect them on my blog... so to make up for that .. here we go!...I was visiting Gerry and Sarah a few weeks ago and took up a few nudes to display and have a catch up...and since I've finally got a new phone with a camera that works I'm going to be able to document these trips to various galleries easier. You'll find you spend a long time browsing the various treasures they have.

Caroline Murray's great Big Barn that has a few of my works hanging (see old post) has been featured in this months issue (March) of Devon Life. The 4 page article is all about the great Big Barn with a few photos of my work and a great description of my art as 'Zany!' which I think is a fantastic thing! So the snow has finally hit Devon!!! This morning I trudged through the snow to get a painting to the post office, think Day After Tomorrow with a painting wrapped in a bin liner....a journey that would normally take about 25 mins took 50.... why, well, the snow! A case of one step forward half a step back, but it was fun... I love the snow...anyway the point of the story - the sodding post office was closed! Closed! I was mad! But the snow ball fights and the falling over onto a cloud cheered up the day. To keep it arty, I made a snow man which many people have commented on saying that he is a serial killer.......well I think he is cute.. a cute serial killer! There's a pic below click on it to enlarge.. and oh my god I have had to re-sign 3 painting so far as I keep dating them '08..... idiot!

So excited suddenly one of my 30 Seconds To Mars speed paintings on youtube videos got lots of views, so I investigated and found that my video was on the 30 Seconds To Mars official My Space page, as their top favorite youtube video! Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish , from Adam and Joe fame now have a radio show and are running a comp in which you have to make a music video to one of their comedy songs, and well I decided to make a music video to Joe's song called 'MeatBalls'. In the film I have made a lovely piece of art using some well .......meatballs. A few months back Caroline Murray got in contact with me for some extremely large paintings that she could put in her newly converted barn (Big Barn) that she is now using as a holiday home. It really is an amazing place and makes my 5ft wide canvases look small !! After a lot of requests for prints of my paintings I have started getting some done, these will all be limited edition prints available in a few sizes. At the moment the first batch are A4 signed and numbered, I'll either put up a print section on the site or if you are interested in a print of a certain painting you can request it........ so if you want a print just drop me an email. Here are a few examples of what the prints look like, they will come in a poly bag, card backed, I'm not sure of the exact weight of the paper but it's about the same as normal photo paper (I'll ring the printers and find out the exact weight!............ but last time I tried that I was on hold for so long I gave up and curled up in a corner!) Anyway, have a look at them I'm really happy with how they have come out. (click on image to enlarge)

It's this weekend, all is sorted, wrapped, hangings put on and bubbled covered paintings filling up my sitting room ready to go. Opening on Friday at 19:00 and running all day on Saturday, hope to see lots of people there, I'll get some photos of the exhibition up after it's all over, but in the meantime here is the poster. I have not been very good at keeping this blog up to date, with the re-design of the web site I don't seem to have much time to get round to filling you in on what's happening in the wonderful world of artness with me, so here goes a decent update. Some up coming shows that are confirmed are on the 7th/8th March at the Mackarness Hall in Hontion. Me and a fellow artist are putting on a show called Juxtaposition, it's a short running show but should be really good, if you are in the area the preview night is the 7th between 19:00 - 21:00 (Free wine and anecdotes). I'll have about 25 pieces in this show so should be good to see if I finish them all in time. Second show is another one with a fellow artist (whose name escapes me at the mo) which will run for a month at the Flavel in Dartmouth the date for this show is 28th July - 27th Aug so quite a way off yet but confirmed about 8 - 10 pieces of mine in that one. And the last show that is going ahead is in Launceston, I'm not too sure on the details for this one yet but I will have around 3 painting in it, this starts on the 16th April for about 3 months !!!

Of course there will be other shows on in the near future but for the minute they are the ones confirmed, I'm especially excited about the Juxtaposition show as this is one that me and the other artist have fully arranged ourselves (no agents were involved) so we will see how it goes, there should be a great atmosphere, I'ill get photos and posters up on the site soon.

I've had a few questions about the "carry on painting films" and if I have stopped doing them, no I haven't I have about 5 or 6 that have been filmed I just need to get around to editing them once they are I will get them up asap. I'm also thinking of doing a Q&A video to answer the most common questions I get, as it's quicker to spill it out of my mouth than write to each person individually. Anyway that's it for a bit, hope you like how the new design is coming on, it will take a while to get the whole site done but I'm doing my best.................. off to paint !!

A great exhibition is now on at the Bird House Gallery in Totnes, it's entitled 'Eye Candy'. I have a few paintings on show there, a bunch of new stuff that is not even up on my site yet, so nip along, it really is an amazing exhibition. I have a show now on at the Flavel in Dartmouth, as part of the annual regatta. The shows runs from 31/8 - 2/9, if you are down there pop in and have a wee look. The paintings that are on show of mine are, Banana Bond Tomorrow Never Knows, Love War III and Banana Storm Trooper II. Mojo Mickybo the play that was using some of my art work has now left the Arcola and is on the west end at Trafalgar Studios. They are using more of the banana manifesto paintings in their program, and having just received a copy it looks damm good, click on images to enlarge.

This months Plymouth Diary magazine features a two page spread about Artspaces, with my painting I-Hepurn as one of the examples of art work, and it's a whole page!!! Very exciting. Click on the image below to enlarge and read.

Yeah !! My painting At At Fox and The Hound was selected as a finalist in the Thelma Hulbert open exhibition in Honiton. I went to the opening on Saturday and it looks really cool, must admit it is very different to anything else in there but that I feel is a good thing. I hate it!! What is the point of it? But after seeing Lucy Birch dedicate her life to telling people how 'lush' they look in their pictures I finally succumbed and decided to check it out, and I have to say it's pretty fun, saying that I have found making the myspace page way more confusing than making this whole web site! Happy new year to all, hope your xmas was good and you are now, like me doing vigorous exercise to get rid of the 'Holiday Weight', and Sandy Claus brought you everything you wanted! My personal fav is the Angel box set which now has put a stop to any social life I had! That now completes my Joss Whedon collection, Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Serenity, so I'm a very happy boy.

As for all of you who received my paintings for xmas I hope you liked them, they like their new homes, and you were overwhelmed with delight when you opened them, having got through the heavy duty bubble wrap.

Well here's to another year, Splintered Studios will be growing over the next year, the web site will start displaying and selling my work as well as showing a selection of other artists work, along with that the Splintered fashion range has just been started and designs are being made up, expect these to be available in the next few months.

New years resolution - To make more films, the painting seemed to take over last year so this year old Stanley the camera will be getting some outings.

Rumours art gallery and bar in Totnes will be having a one man show of Stephen Quick's, with 17 original paintings on display and for sale. The collection consists of the Banana Manifesto, Butterflies and Hearts and a selection of pop art and abstract paintings.
